Report on 2008

2008 has proved to be a fruitful and exciting year.

Precious Life

As spiritual director for ‘Precious life’ I have visited Belfast, and also met up with the team in London to go to Westminster and be a voice for the unborn.

In May we went into the People’s Gallery in Westminster to pray and listen while the Human Fertilisation and Embryo Research Bill was being debated.

In October we joined other pro life groups outside Westminster to pray that the HFE Bill amendment to extend the 1967 Abortion Act to Northern Ireland would not go through, and our prayers were answered.

Equipping Seminars

Throughout the year I have been privileged to visit many churches and groups throughout the UK to run workshops on the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.

 These have included:

I stand in awe of what the Lord has done this year! I have always known that the Lord has called me to equip others and just when I think ‘can it get any better’ the Lord goes and takes it to a higher level. Wow! Great is his faithfulness! Most of the groups who have invited me to speak have been walking with the Lord for many years, and just needed refreshing and equipping for the changing times ahead, especially in the revelatory gifts.

Life in the Spirit Seminars

I have spoken at a number of seminars, particularly the “Holy Spirit” evenings/weekend.

God is continuing to bless people through these seminars, as they come to know God more intimately through the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.

Birmingham. Erdington Abbey prayer group ‘Baptism in the Holy Spirit’
Northwich prayer group ‘Growth in the Spirit’
Northwood, London. ‘Life in the Spirit Seminars’,  

America

In March I was invited to go to Detroit and Santiago for three weeks to speak.

In Detroit I spoke and ministered mainly to Catholics in house group settings. (I was also invited to a beautiful Chaldean wedding!)

In Santiago again I spoke and prayed with many people in house group and prayer group settings. Myself and a team of friends organised a day of healing at St Ephraim’s Chaldean church, we saw many people touched and healed as the power of the Holy Spirit fell upon the congregation. Indeed it was a very fruitful three weeks.

Conferences

New Dawn Catholic Charismatic Conference –three workshops:
a) ‘Praying for the unborn’,
b) ‘Moving in the Charismatic Gifts of the Holy Spirit’
c) ‘Receiving God’s Fire’.

Birmingham Catholic Charismatic Conference – ‘God’s Fire’.

Wycliff, Newcastle upon Tyne, Catholic Youth Conference – shared my testimony and talked about fanning into flames the Charismatic gifts they have already received.

Prayer group

Our prayer group has now been meeting weekly for over twenty years, and continues to be a powerhouse of blessing. Our motley crew are being formed into a community which can welcome brothers and sisters from other denominations, and we are blessed to have a new parish priest who comes and joins us. We are continually in awe of the way God answers our many prayers, and of the transformation we see in each other and in our Church. Praise God.
